Equinox Press Release logo indicating that this post is a press release.

Atlanta, Ga., May 18, 2026: Equinox Open Library Initiative, a trusted leader in open source technology development and support for libraries, is pleased to announce that Equinox has joined The Evergreen Project as an Institutional Member.

“Equinox is excited to join The Evergreen Project as one of its very first Institutional Members,” said Mike Rylander, founding developer of Evergreen, and Research and Development Manager at Equinox. “The project’s new membership model builds upon the Evergreen community’s long history of commitment to libraries.”

Equinox’s Mike Rylander, and Jason Etheridge, Senior Developer, are two of the original team who developed the Evergreen Integrated Library System prior to their founding of Equinox Software.

In 2016, Equinox Open Library Initiative superseded Equinox Software as a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing open source solutions for libraries. Equinox contributes in-kind support to the Evergreen Project through software development, community leadership, educational resources and more.
