Equinox Presents on Open Source Accessibility at WOLFCon 2023

Atlanta, GA, August 21, 2023: Equinox Open Library Initiative, a trusted leader in open source technology development and support for libraries, is excited to announce that Equinox will be presenting an overview of Equinox’s accessible theme for VuFind® at WOLFCon 2023. Equinox staff members Stephanie Leary and Andrea Buntz Neiman will present, “Layers of Accessibility in Open Source,” on Wednesday, August 23, 2023 from 11:30am-12:00pm CDT. “Equinox has developed an attractive new theme to VuFind® with a focus on accessibility, which is a priority for us across all of the library open source products Equinox supports,” said Andrea Buntz Neiman, Project Manager for Software Development at Equinox. “As a VuFind® Registered Service Provider, we look forward to sharing these best practices with the community at WOLFCon.”

VuFind® is an open source discovery layer developed and maintained by Villanova University’s Falvey Memorial Library. The Equinox theme for VuFind® offers an inviting, responsive, and user-friendly interface designed to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA compliance. Interactive controls have been refined within the theme for interoperability with assistive technologies.
