Equinox Announces Q2 Project Contributions to Evergreen ILS

Atlanta, Ga., July 31, 2025: Equinox Open Library Initiative, a trusted leader in open source technology development and support for libraries, is pleased to announce new development work and other community contributions completed in Q2 of 2025 for Evergreen ILS.

Equinox contributed fifty percent of the features appearing in the May 2025 Evergreen 3.15 release, and several Equinox staff, including Andrea Buntz Neiman, Galen Charlton, and Jason Etheridge, served on the release team. Andrea Buntz Neiman also served on the release team for Evergreen’s May maintenance releases (3.13.11, 3.14.6, and 3.15.1), and Jason Etheridge served on June’s maintenance release team (3.14.7 and 3.15.2). These updates can be viewed at: https://evergreen-ils.org/egdownloads/.

Recent development included work on multi-year, multi-part projects, such as OPAC accessibility enhancements, sponsored by BC Libraries Cooperative, and support for Quipu eRENEW sponsored by the Pennsylvania Integrated Library System (PaILS).

Equinox also completed the addition of payment type flags, allowing administrators more granular control over which payments are eligible for refund when a charge is voided, supported by the Kenton County Library System. These contributions will be submitted to the Evergreen community for review and consideration for the next version of Evergreen.

“Evergreen’s development cycle is well underway for 2025,” said Andrea Buntz Neiman, Project Manager for Software Development at Equinox. “The spring Evergreen 3.15 release is here, the community has networked and brainstormed new features at the 2025 Evergreen International Conference, and we are excited and looking forward to the fall release.”
