Equinox Welcomes Porter County Public Library to Evergreen Indiana

Atlanta, Ga., April 12, 2022: Equinox Open Library Initiative, a trusted leader in open source technology development and support for libraries, is excited to welcome Porter County Public Library (IN) to Evergreen Indiana with support from Indiana State Library. The project partnership led to the successful completion of the Porter County Public Library migration and brings Equinox’s superior service to members of Evergreen Indiana.

“We were pleased to be able to collaborate with the Indiana State Library and Evergreen Indiana on this migration project,” said Rogan Hamby. “The beauty of the open source library community is that we work together to provide exceptional support to libraries using open source technologies like Evergreen ILS. We were happy to provide the flexibility to make the short turnaround time a success.”

Evergreen Indiana is a growing consortium of over 100 libraries throughout the state of Indiana that are using Evergreen ILS. The Indiana State Library provides funding in addition to technical support, training, and software development of Evergreen ILS on behalf of member libraries. Porter County Public Library encompasses 50,000 user accounts, 260,000 bibliographic records, and includes the third largest genealogical collection in Indiana.

“Porter County Public Library System is the most recent and largest addition to the Evergreen Indiana Library Consortium, becoming our 126th public library member,” said Ruth Frasur, Evergreen Development and Support Administrator at the Indiana State Library. “The inclusion of Porter County Public Library System in Evergreen Indiana represented several firsts for our consortium and administrative team notably including integration of Evergreen Indiana with the Aspen Discovery Layer and the migration of acquisitions data from their legacy ILS. The success of this complex and large migration would have been impossible without the dedicated support of specialists from Equinox Open Library Initiative. The Equinox team was responsive to our needs in a way that cannot be over-celebrated.”
