Equinox Presents at Virtual VuFind Summit 2021

Atlanta, Ga., November 9, 2021: Equinox Open Library Initiative, a trusted leader in open source technology development and support for libraries is pleased to announce that Galen Charlton, Implementation and IT Manager, will be presenting at the Virtual VuFind Summit 2021. Charlton will be presenting “Updating the VuFind ILS Driver for Evergreen ILS” on November 15 at 3:00 pm UTC / 10 a.m. Eastern. Registration is free and information can be found here: https://vufind.org/wiki/community:conferences:summit_2021

VuFind is a user-friendly, customizable, open source discovery layer designed to support searching and browsing all of the library’s items, including print and digital collections, institutional repositories, bibliographies, and other resources. It is a replacement for the traditional OPAC, providing faster search functionality, similar resource recommendations, and much more. VuFind is developed and maintained by Villanova University’s Falvey Memorial Library with contributions from many developers world-wide, and is suitable for libraries, museums, and archives. Equinox offers implementation and support for VuFind for Evergreen and Koha.

“Connecting the VuFind and the Evergreen ILS communities expands the capabilities of both open source projects and builds an important bridge to increase library capabilities for communities,” said Galen Charlton, Implementation and IT Manager. “I am looking forward to being a part of this year’s VuFind Summit to discuss the improvements we’re making to the Evergreen connector for VuFind.”

Charlton is an active contributor to open source library communities, including Evergreen ILS, which announced the release of Evergreen 3.8.0 this week.

“Galen brings a wealth of experience and strong commitment to his work in open source communities and in libraries. His presentation at the Virtual VuFind Summit will showcase recent initiatives and present the opportunities of VuFind and Evergreen.” said Lisa Carlucci, Executive Director of Equinox Open Library Initiative.
